Using a gyro in jet precision aerobatics (F3S)
The gyro is a misunderstood form of technology that IS allowed in the rule book to be used while flying Jet Precision Aerobatics (F3S). In all FAI classes (F3S and Basic) and USA classes (Silver, Scale, and EDF), a gyro can be used in your aircraft when competing, with no issues regarding rules!
For the information below, I will discuss setting up a PowerBox Champion SR2 using a JR 28X transmitter (JR Radios) since those are the equipment I have been using successfully in competition. Regardless of the radio system you use, the principles are the same! RADIO SETUP for the Gyro When using the newer PowerBox SR2 systems, the iGyro SAT will need to be purchased separately and also if you wanted to use a GPS system, you will also need to obtain the GPS III. Having installed them in the space where they will stay in your jet, it is time to set up your gyro for competition flying. The Champion SR2 |
